Thomas Umbaca (Milan, 1997), of Anglo-Calabrian descent, has been expressing himself through the piano since he was a child. His music is accompanied by vocals, percussion and a loop station, which blend together to form a highly expressive and original musical language. He has had the opportunity to present his music at some of Italy’s most prestigious festivals and events, garnering particular interest from audiences and the press, as well as opening for artists such as Alabaster DePlume, Antonio Sánchez, Venerus, Shabaka and Penguin Café.
In October 2023, his debut album “UMBAKA” was released on Ponderosa Music Records, followed by a tour that saw him perform across Italy.
His new musical project, due for release in spring 2026, is co-produced with Amedeo Pace (Blonde Redhead). It is a work that opens the doors to a whole new sonic world, where the piano—which takes centre stage on the track—intertwines with new electronic nuances, giving rise to an ever-changing emotional landscape.
